Previously, I provided some tips on how Chinese can select their auspicious day for their wedding through a simply Chinese calendar. While this may be sufficient for modern couples who no longer follow most of the Chinese customs, it may not be suitable for the more traditional families as auspicious days are often determined through the calculation and matching of the bride’s and groom’s birthdates and time of births.
Find out other more comprehensive ways of selecting the most auspicious date for your wedding and wedding related ceremonies.
If the couple is Buddhist, they may consider going to the temple and consulting the monks or temple officials there for a suitable date based on their birthdates and Chinese zodiac signs. If you would like a Bhutanese wedding like Carina Lau and Tony Leung, a Bhutanese high lama will choose the best date for you!
Otherwise, there are lots of fortune tellers available who will assess the compatibility of the couple’s birthdates and choose the most suitable wedding date for them, for a fee. Generally, several dates are provided for the couple to choose from. However in some very extreme cases, the couple may be only be given one best date in the entire year or be advised to marry as soon as possible as the following year may not be suitable for them.

Hi Gladys – Depending on where you are living, perhaps you might want to contact your local Chinese fortune teller or Loh Pah Tit to get the most suitable date for your wedding. Good luck!
I got the Loh Pah Tit guy to do for mine. That company acts very professionally.
