Wedding planning and researching can sometimes be a stressful process, especially if couples do not know where to start looking for their dream wedding theme or wedding invitations. Often, friends who have married can be a good source of information however, they may not necessarily know the latest trends in wedding dresses or wedding themes, especially if they have married a few years ago. So should you run out and buy a whole stack of bridal magazines right after the proposal?

Consider the Costs

Bridal and wedding magazines do not come cheap. They average RM15 and above for a copy especially if they are imported copies such as InStyle Weddings or Brides Magazine. Locally, popular bridal magazines are Bridal Guide and Female Brides. As buying a number of them can work out to be quite expensive, scout and ask around for the best magazine and invest in just one or two good ones instead of buying many magazines.

Informative Source

Although they may be more expensive than other magazines, bridal magazines are often a good place to start for busy brides-to-be as they are packed with lots of information, ideas and suggestions. A good bridal magazine will have lots of up to date information on the latest wedding gown trends and wedding themes to ensure the stylish bride can plan a beautiful wedding. Good magazines such as Female Brides also have good wedding checklists which you can use to have a stress-free wedding planning process.

Additional Information

Advertisements can be quite irritating to see in magazines but in bridal magazines, advertisements by wedding vendors often provide a lot of good additional information. From those glossy advertisements, you might be able to find your dream wedding photographer or wedding gown designer to help you towards planning your perfect wedding. However, do ensure your bridal magazine has a good mix of advertisements and articles. Otherwise, you might not be able to get much ideas in planning your wedding at all.

While bridal magazines may provide a useful source of information, do be careful not to buy too many of them too close to your wedding date as you might end up overwhelmed by the ideas and suggestions you see. Once you have decided on your dream wedding gown or wedding theme, stop looking otherwise you might end up changing your mind a million times! :)
