Save The Date cards are hugely popular in Western weddings and have only recently started catching on locally. Often, in Malaysia, news of a wedding are through word of mouth until the formal wedding invitations have been sent. However, as weddings here take on a more modern touch, couples too have started preparing Save The Date cards as a preliminary invitation to their wedding. Here’s why it is a great idea to send out Save The Date cards early in your wedding preparation!

Preliminary Guest List

Once your wedding date and venue has been set, it is time to send out your Save The Date cards! They can be sent as early as up to 6 to 8 months before your actual wedding date. Early RSVPs to your Save The Date cards can help you have an idea of what the wedding headcount will be like and whether you still wish to send formal invitations to those who have confirmed that they will not be attending.

However, do be careful as people may sometimes change their plans or forget to mark the date down. A lot of people are less diligent than we think they are!

Creative Fun

With Save The Date cards, you can often experiment with something creative and fun compared to the formal invitations. It is also an interesting and different way to introduce your wedding to your guests before the invitiations are sent.

So, unleash your creativity and start designing!

Setting Of Style

Some bridal couples are really organised and know immediately what sort of style they want for their wedding the minute they are engaged. For these couples, Save The Dates are a fantastic way to introduce your wedding style and wedding theme to your guests. Whether it is a pink theme, a circus theme or even a retro-style wedding, you can prepare Save The Date reminders in those styles that will flow on into your invitations and your reception.

For those who do not have a style, don’t fret as Save The Date cards offer you the opportunity to play around with styles and designs. Since it is so preliminary, it will not matter if you decide halfway that the style isn’t what you are looking for and decide to have a different style for your actual wedding invitations.

Updates On Wedding Preparation

Wedding couples often now have a wedding website where they chronicle their wedding preparation journey. Whether a free website or a specially designed site, it is a great way to provide your guests with updates on your wedding. Printing your website address on your Save The Date reminders will allow your guests to share your joy and excitement in this magical journey and to also provide helpful tips or advice when you get stuck!

Save The Dates do not necessarily have to be printed and sent if you are trying to keep your wedding costs low. If you do not want the hassle of printing and sending cards twice for your Save The Dates and wedding invitations, why not consider doing an online version? It is a great environmentally-free option! :)

So, for a different touch to your wedding and to provide your guests with early notice so they don’t get booked up for another wedding, consider sending Save The Date cards! They are a great way to introduce yourselves to your guests in your own individual style!
