Selecting a wedding venue is often one of the biggest headaches of any bridal couple as it needs to be finalised quickly, especially if your wedding falls on a popular date or a weekend. At the same time, often couples do not want to secure a venue with a deposit so quickly in case something better comes up during the preparation period of their wedding. Hence, it is important to try to set aside some time to research and survey hotels in the early part of your marriage preparation to try to view as many options possible to find the right venue for you and your wedding theme.

Hotels are often a hugely popular choice as they provide the right ambiance for weddings with softly lit chandeliers, plush carpeting, beautifully decorated ballrooms and packages which usually come with a bridal suite for the happy couple to spend the night in.

I would like to rent a air condition hall or medium banquet hall (40-45 tables) to accommodate 350-400 pax. Venue preferably some where Cheres/Ampang. Food from out side caterer. Can you please suggest me a few places… Thank You

Hi Elle, I’m from Australia planning to have a small wedding in Kuala Lumpur in September. I’m looking to have garden wedding and then dinner meals for 14 people. Also looking for a celebrant who can speak fluent English to perform the wedding ceremony.
I haven’t decided which hotel to stay, but if I able to find a place to do wedding ceremony for us, do we have to stay there? thanks for your help.

hey there Elle, i’m getting married in Jan 2011. i’m looking for a venue which can accommodate around 300 pax wit a budget approximately 25-30 with wonderful deco/setting. one question though, is it reasonable to have a garden wedding with 300 guests present? would appreciate your help..thanx

Hi Elle, not sure if you still response to this page. Would like to ask, a couple friend of mine is getting married next Jan, they would really like to have a Garden Wedding, but places like Cyberview Lodge is taken up already. you have any another suggestions? They are looking at 35 – 40 tables. If possible, to avoid the KL traffic as well. It will be great if you could suggest a few places for them to look for. thanks:)

Hi Ling – Subang, PJ and Damansara have some nice hotels you can enquire with. Try Sheraton, One World for starters.

Hi Steph – Sorry for the long silence but I’m back :) Hm…perhaps she might want to ask with some hotels if they can set up a garden wedding instead. However, considering the number of tables she’s looking at, it could be quite difficult to find a garden big enough.

Hi Maya – I think Bankers Club does tables for below RM1000. Carcosa definitely a lot more. You may try Courtyard Garden but I don’t think they’ll be much cheaper.

Hi Joyce – I can’t quite recall, sorry! But I think most restaurants and hotels in KL now should have the same ambience. I’ve actually been to a wedding in Holiday Inn Glenmarie. I found it quite nice :)
