Selecting a wedding venue is often one of the biggest headaches of any bridal couple as it needs to be finalised quickly, especially if your wedding falls on a popular date or a weekend. At the same time, often couples do not want to secure a venue with a deposit so quickly in case something better comes up during the preparation period of their wedding. Hence, it is important to try to set aside some time to research and survey hotels in the early part of your marriage preparation to try to view as many options possible to find the right venue for you and your wedding theme.
Hotels are often a hugely popular choice as they provide the right ambiance for weddings with softly lit chandeliers, plush carpeting, beautifully decorated ballrooms and packages which usually come with a bridal suite for the happy couple to spend the night in.

we try to look for some budget banquet ..anything hotel or restaurant recommended?
Hi, I booked Bankers Club for my own wedding and found it a very nice place that fitted into my budget. However, it only caters for small weddings. Perhaps you might want to try checking with them or smaller restaurants
I am looking for a place which accomodates around 5-8 tables, lunch time and it would be good if I can have a private room (in the restaurant) or the whole restaurant by ourselves. Budget is approximately RM 1.2 K. Any recommendation ? Wouldn’t to take a garden style as well. Thanks
Hi,
I am looking for a lunch wedding venue.. a simple one but must be either a private room or section. Budget about RM 1 K per table. Any recommendation ?
Cheers
Hi Karen, thanks for your mail. With RM1k per table, you have quite a few options available to you in the form of hotels or restaurants. Perhaps you could consider doing it in a small cosy restaurant such as Courtyard, Passion Road, Bankers Club or The Smokehouse. I’m not sure if these places do lunch but they do have pretty and elegant settings for a small and intimate wedding reception. Hope it helps! Ohterwise, please feel free to drop me an email!
Hi Caren, most hotels should be able to provide you a private room for a small reception. With so few tables, I doubt it is possible to have the whole restaurant although you could probably request for a section of the restaurant to be closed off for your function. Why not try Cyberview Lodge? They do nice garden weddings and their Chinese or Italian restaurant should be able to accommodate a small dinner party. Other alternatives include Courtyard Gardens, Passion Road, Top Hat and any of the bungalow themed restaurants around KLCC area. Hope it helps
Hi,
I love the cosy bungalow themed restaurants. You would know any that can accomodate 150pax with a budget of RM10K – RM12K
i am looking for look for some budget banquet in Hotel with cocktail reception in KL. Any recommendation? i need a big ballroom with can accommodate ard 30~40 tables.
Hi Mandy – What sort of budget do you have in mind? Most big hotels have ballrooms that can accommodate 30 to 40 tables. You could try slightly older hotels such as Sunway Resort, Legend Hotel, Parkroyal Hotel or others. Most will have a cocktail reception as part of their package.
my budget is around RM 800~RM1000 per table. With this limited budget, what sort of hotel you would recommend?
Hi Mandy, with that budget, you should be able to find quite a few hotels. Give Legend Hotel, Eastin Hotel, Parkroyal or Hotel Istana a try. However, do bear in mind that with taxes and surcharges, it may work out to slightly over RM1000 per table.
Hi Jessica – Have you tried bungalow restaurants such as Courtyard or Passion Road? They might be able to work out something around your budget with a Western type dinner.

Hi Elle, I love the idea of wedding reception @ bungalows. Would you have any recommendations for Petaling Jaya?
Hi Elle. I am looking for a garden wedding venue that could fit 350pax. Some sort like Sri carcosa but slightly cheeper. do you know any where else that could give me the same classic and elegant feel? My wedding is in march 2011.
Hi Elle,
Do you still use this website? We are interested in getting married next October in Malaysia (we have family who live in Kuala Lumpur).
Can you possibly advise me on any suitable venues for our civil ceremony and a meal afterwards for eight?
Thanks,
Keira
Hi Elle – I need some help here~! I am a Singaporean and have no clues about restaurants and hotels in KL. But as my dad’s relatives are all from Malaysia, we have decided to hold an additional dinner in KL. I am expecting about 100 – 120 guests and don’t want to bust the budget of RM10,000. Do you have any recommendations? By the way, I love the idea of bungalow themed restaurants, but are there any for Chinese food??? Appreciate your help! =D
Hi Christine, I’ve dropped you an email
Most bungalow style restaurants do Western set meals or international buffet spreads. However, you might want to try Top Hat as they used to have a more Asian inspired menu. Hope it helps!
Hi Keira, I still do use the site!
I’ve dropped you a personal mail. Please let me know if you need more help
Hi Moon, I’ve dropped you a mail
Hope it helps!
Hi Gaga, I dropped a mail. Do let me know if you need more information
Hi Vgirl, I’ve dropped you a mail that I hope will help
Hi Nicole, most bungalow themed restaurants such as Courtyard or Bankers Club will do international buffets but the budget may be more expensive once you have factored in drinks and other additions.
Hi Ashraf, there are quite a number of garden restaurants in KL. Perhaps you could try calling Courtyard and Ciao for more information on their prices.
Hi, I am also looking for a venue that can have civil ceremony follow by a buffet lunch/ high tea. For around 50 pax only.
Any hotel/ restaurant provide such service? TQ
I am getting married in KL next year. We are having difficulty finding a celebrant to perform the wedding ceremony. We are not religious and therefore do not want a priest or pastor to perform the wedding. Do you have any suggestions where we can find a civil celebrant?
Thanks
Hi Elle,
I am looking for an alternative venue to Courtyard Garden. We like bungalow style /garden style.
Guest not more than 200 pax, do you have any recommendation?
Venue must be in PJ/Subang but not heart of KL.
Thanks for your suggestion.
Hi Mich – I’m not sure if Subang and PJ have any bungalow restaurants as most of the good ones tend to be in KL. Apparently there is one called Eleven Event (contact: eleven.event@gmail.com) in PJ but not sure if they are available. You might want to try dropping them a mail
Good luck!
Hi Danielle – I don’t have contacts for any civil celebrants. However, you can try doing a google search or checking on Malaysian Brids Forum. There might be some suggestions there.
Hi Jade – With 50 pax, you might want to try contacting most hotels to see if they can give you a small function room followed by high tea. They should be able to put together a package for you quite easily especially if you have already signed up for your wedding dinner with them.
Hi Angeline – There are quite a few bungalow restaurants in KL such as Passion Road, Courtyard Gardens, Rahsia, Top Hat and Ciao. It will be best to contact them directly and discuss your budget with them to see what they can provide you within that budget. Good luck!
