Save the date cards are a fantastic idea as it gives your guests early notification of their wedding which is very useful to avoid “no-shows” especially if your wedding is on an auspicious day. However, if you are concerned about printing additional cards and stretching your wedding budget, here’s a tip how you can do your Save The Date cards for free!

DIY Save The Date cards and send them out via email! You can even do it if you are a non tech-savvy bride, like me! Here’s how!

You can very easily create your cards using all kinds of design software. If you are a non tech-savvy bride, fear not because you can create a beautiful Save the Date card just using simple Powerpoint!

  1. Open your Microsoft Powerpoint Program.
  2. Insert your photo or a cute picture that you want to use to personalise your card.
  3. Insert your words and play around with your font and colours to create a personalised Save The Date!

You can use a sample of your pre-wedding photograph to create a lovely backdrop or a funny picture of you both – it is entirely up to you! Save the Dates are more informal so you can include a playful message to announce that you are getting married! It is entirely up to your creativity!

Just ensure that most of your guests have access to email otherwise you might have some problems with RSVPs!
