Wedding Invitations – Keeping Track Of Wedding RSVPs

by Elle on April 8, 2009

Deciding on your wedding guest list and wedding invitation design is just the start of your headache! The most important part is whether your guests RSVP your wedding invitations and that is certainly one stressful part of your wedding planning. If you have sent out your wedding invitations and still have not received any RSVPs, don’t panic! Instead read these tips below.

Create A Wedding Checklist

Excel spreadsheets are often a bride and groom’s best friend during their wedding planning. Create a list of your guests and add the following colums to track their responses:

  • Invitations Sent?
  • Replies Received?
  • Attending
  • Not Attending

You can check your total wedding guests with a quick glance as the replies start coming in.

Tracking RSVP Cards

RSVP cards can easily get lost if you are receiving many at a time and without proper coordination, it can be confusing to see who has replied and who hasn’t. Some guests reply but forget to put their names on the card! To avoid confusion, assign each guest a number and mark each RSVP card with the same number. That way you can easily track which guest has replied and if they replied without any information, you can easily match it back to your guest list.

How To Follow Up With Your Guests

Be prepared for guests not to send back RSVP cards even if you have self-stamped each one! To save some costs, do away with RSVP cards and stamps and have your guests reply by email or through your wedding website instead. For those without internet access, split up the list between the bride and groom for each party to follow up with their respective guests. If some guests are friends of your parents, request their help in following up with their friends.

With these tipsĀ for organising your wedding guest list, you can look forward to stress-free wedding planning! :)
