Bridal Beauty Tips – Get your brows in shape!

Do not forget your brows

While getting ready for your big day, there is one thing you might forget – your brows. Your makeup artists can do all they can but they may not be the best person to tweeze bushy brows into shape on the day itself.

So, if you are not sure about tweezing your own brows into shape, or have never tried it, now is not the time to experiment! Instead, go to a makeup counter that specializes in shaping brows or to a salon. If you like, you could even get your brows threaded into shape which I’m told takes longer to get out of shape.

Some makeup counters in Malaysia that have brow counters are Shu Uemura, Estee Lauder (Isetan Lot 10) and Empro. Sometimes, your makeup artist might be able to help you, but it is not advisable for you to have them tweezed on the day itself as yur skin may be sensitive and turn red.

If you are on a strict budget, the Beautilicious Arch it Right brow kit (RM59.90) can help you. You can read a review here. The tweezers included is very good and gets all the little hairs. There is also a stencil to help guide you on your way. Make sure you experiment early so any mishaps can be cured by the experts!

Another worthy product to try is Benefit Cosmetics’ Brow Zings. A wax based brow kit with tweezers and a brush for you to shape your brows and powder to set your brows. You could also try a pencil and the Shu Uemura Brow Pencil comes highly recommended. You can get the girls at the counter or boutique to give you some tips on how to use it properly.

If you have light brows, try not to have your make up artist make them too stark or too arched. You don’t want to look eternally surprised in all your wedding photos do you? ;)

So remember to schedule some time to take a look at your brows at least 1 month before your big day. That’s time enough to get them in shape and to keep them in shape so you look groomed and polished on the day.

Stay beautiful,

Paris B
