Sex and The City movie created lots of interest and suspense with fans when it was rumoured that fashionable Carrie Bradshaw was going to get married in the movie. Fans waited with bated breath to see what the stiletto wearing fashionista Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, would wear to her own wedding and she certainly did not let them down! Carrie Bradshaw wore a striking satin wedding gown in an interesting cream and pale gold from Vivienne Westwood’s Gold Label. The huge poofy skirt appeared inspired by Victorian gowns with its layers and scallops. Topped off with a plain pointed bodice with just some sparkles on the top, the gown is outstanding enough without any other need for embellishments!
The original Vivienne Westwood is actually a tea-length dress with a skirt three quarters the length of Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding gown. Priced at a whooping £4,530 (RM28,000!) it very quickly flew off the shelves when it was put up for sale!
Personally, I thought the bridesmaids dresses featured in Sex And The City are also worth a mention as their brightly jeweled toned dresses created a wonderful contrast against Carrie’s wedding gown. And makes a lovely change from matching bridesmaids dresses which can be a little boring!
