Meredith Grey Wedding Gown

Weddings are beautiful but its even more meaningful when the bride walking down the aisle is terminally ill but yet wishes to enjoy the wonderful experience every bride does on that special day of her life. In the 100th episode of Grey’s Anatomy, viewers who were kept guessing as to whether Meredith or Izzie finally got their answer. Read on below to see who walked down the aisle in an ornate and glamorous wedding gown.

Izzie Wedding Gown

Meredith modelled the gown but it was Izzie who wore it when Meredith gave up her wedding day for Izzie whose terminal condition was swiftly deteriorating, just to let her be a bride for the day. The gown they both wore was an ornate tulle A-line gown by Kenneth Pool.  Called The Lana dress, it featured a long tulle skirt with an elaborate embroided bodice. designed with vintage and crystal embroidery The beaded straps were altered into a beaded halter design for Izzie. The Kenneth Pool gown retails for a whopping $7,250!

Izzie’s gown had a strong resemblence to Christina Yang’s wedding gown designed by Amsale Aberra. The wedding dress she wore featured a similar tulle skirt but with a trumpet cut and a pretty embroided bodice with a sweetheart collar.

I didn’t quite like The Lana dress, although Izzie looked absolutely divine in it!

Hi Ann – Thanks for dropping by! I must say the tulle skirt looked rather dreamy and fairy tale like! :)
