Do You Need A Wedding Videographer?

Capturing Your Wedding on Video

Weddings are full of beautiful moments – the look in the groom’s eyes when he sees his bride for the first time, the mixture of pride and sadness when a father gives his daughter away, laughter and poignant tears at the heightened emotions a happy union brings. Is it enough for these special moments to be captured on photo film or should you hire a videographer too? Read on below to decide if you should add a wedding videographer to your wedding budget.

Should You Get A Wedding Videographer?

Do You See Yourself Playing It?

Wedding videos are not like wedding photos. You can’t frame a video or have it on constant playback like an album or digital photoframe. If you don’t see yourself playing it back often, then perhaps you might be better off allocating that budget to something else.

Do You Want To Relive Every Moment Of Your Wedding?

Let’s be honest, not all weddings are picture perfect. There might be really embarrasing points of the wedding you would rather forget (think America’s Funniest Home Videos!) or you might not like seeing yourself on film. However, if you would like to relive all parts of your wedding and laugh over them many years on, then make sure you add a professional videographer to your wedding checklist!

Making Wedding Videos

Do You Want To Capture Every Detail?

Weddings often pass by in a blur especially for the bridal couple. Suddenly, the day is over after all those months of planning! Seeing your wedding again through a wedding video will be a great way to see the bits you might have missed because you were so stressed over your wedding. Listening again to the wedding speeches, seeing the raw emotions on your loved ones’ faces and laughing over silly bits you missed on the actual day is a great way to bond a new couple after their wedding.

Do You Have Loved Ones Who Can’t Make It?

If you do have loved ones who can’t make it to your wedding, then a wedding video is a great way for them watch the wedding they missed. Mail them a copy of your video and they would love to be part of your wedding too through your video.

Personally, I didn’t have a wedding video simply because I knew it would likely end up languishing away in a dusty old cupboard. However, if you are unsure, consider getting a wedding videographer if it fits in your budget. That way, you won’t have regrets since a wedding is only once!
