Bridal Beauty Tips: Do You Need A Professional Make Up Artist

by Elle on August 2, 2011

I am a bride on a tight budget and my friend who has completed a makeup course has generously offered to do my bridal makeup for me for free or a small charge. Should I get her to do my makeup since I cannot afford to pay for a professional artist?

Money makes the world, or in this case, weddings go round! Don't all brides wish they had a limitless wedding budget! Unfortunately, the reality is that most brides have a limited budget to work around and hence, will be happy to accept any help that is offered. So, if your good friend offers her makeup services cheaply or for free in lieu of a professional artist, should you heave a sigh of relief? Before you cross out yet another to-do item on your checklist, do consider these tips below:

Does she do her own makeup?

If your friend does her own makeup and you like the way she looks, she will likely be able to do a nice look for you. Beware though if only she thinks she looks good! :P

Has she done similar makeup for others before?

Like everything else, practice makes perfect. So, the more people she has had a chance to make up for, the better she will be.

Go for a trial!

Give her makeup a try before you commit. Go for a trial session and see if you like the colours and look she puts together for you.

If your friend meets all those tips above, congratulations! You've got yourself some good savings and a great makeup artist! :)

With Love,
Elle
